Wanda Huo La Pai Hotpot: A Chinese-style Hotpot Restaurant

Combining Tradition and Modernity in Design

Wanda Huo La Pai Hotpot is a unique Chinese-style restaurant that seamlessly blends traditional elements with modern design. Designed by Wanfu Su, this hotpot restaurant stands out for its exquisite Chinese-style decoration and cultural connotations.

The inspiration for Wanda Huo La Pai Hotpot came from the desire to create a space that not only highlights the characteristics of a hotpot restaurant but also embraces the rich Chinese culture. The ceiling design, featuring oil paper umbrella lampshades and a vibrant Chinese red color, immediately sets the tone for a strong Chinese aesthetic. The red lanterns and graceful Chinese paintings further enhance the poetic and artistic ambiance of the entire space.

What sets Wanda Huo La Pai Hotpot apart is its incorporation of traditional Chinese architectural elements. The designers drew inspiration from ancient Chinese towns and combined it with modern oriental art to create a space that reflects the exquisite lifestyle of traditional culture. This design approach gives the hotpot restaurant a profound cultural connotation and showcases its unique characteristics.

In terms of materials, Wanda Huo La Pai Hotpot embraces sustainability and resourcefulness. Local waste materials, such as old wood, Chinese-style window lattice, window grilles, and tiles, were used to recycle resources and reduce costs. Natural materials like diatom mud, old green bricks, elms, gray tiles, and floor tiles were carefully selected to create a luxurious and elegant experience for customers.

The interior space of Wanda Huo La Pai Hotpot is designed with a focus on simplicity. Black, white, and gray are the main colors, creating an atmosphere of imposing simplicity. The spatial planning cleverly utilizes winding Chinese corridors to provide distance between tables, ensuring both a spacious environment and privacy for diners. The posts are adorned with vibrant red, adding a lively touch to the overall space. The restaurant's entry area is decorated with Chinese-style lanterns, welcoming customers with warmth and hospitality.

Wanda Huo La Pai Hotpot was completed in May 2019 in Xiamen. Throughout the design process, the team faced challenges such as optimizing the layout while preserving the original structure of the staircase and toilet areas. The dining area needed to be open yet maintain privacy for customers. Additionally, the facade design had to consider the existing air-conditioning pipes and large indoor columns that affected the overall appearance.

Wanda Huo La Pai Hotpot has received recognition for its outstanding design. It was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2021. This prestigious award is given to well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements. The design of Wanda Huo La Pai Hotpot showcases the integration of industry best practices and competent technical characteristics, contributing to a better world.

Wanda Huo La Pai Hotpot is a testament to the fusion of tradition and modernity in design. It offers a unique dining experience that celebrates Chinese culture and craftsmanship while providing a comfortable and stylish atmosphere for customers.
